Herbal and Food Treatments

Back Pain-
Note: Causes of back pain could be Poor pasture (when sitting), obesity and lifting heavy objects with the back instead of the legs and wallet in the back of the pocket.
Bad Breath-
Bedsores-
Back Pain-
- Get much rest in order to heal and relieve muscle strain. Recline on a firm surface and avoid lying on your stomach. Also place a pillow between the legs to support the back while lying on your side.
- Most men carry a big wallet in their back pocket. Remove wallet from your back pocket. This will help to align the spin of the back when sitting.
- When lying on your back use a heating pad. Do not use ice.
- Avoid prolonged periods of sitting. Sitting puts stress on the back muscles. Stretch and walk around every hour.
- If you have to stand for prolonged periods, rest one foot by elevating it above the other foot to rest back.
- To strengthen back muscles try sit-ups and other stomach exercises. Usually weak back muscles are a sign of weak stomach muscles.

Bad Breath-
- Parsley with chlorophyll, is a good herbal breath-freshener. Other herbs to counter bad breath are alfalfa, peppermint, fennel, anise seeds, sage, and rosemary.
- STOP EATING STICKY SWEET FOODS to reduce plaque
- Drink plenty of water and sour foods to stimulate saliva flow.
- Avoid alcohol, garlic, and foods that have strong odors.
- Brush teeth and tongue after each meal and floss.
Bedsores-
- Many herbalists recommend applying myrrh to bedsores.
- Chamomile or witch hazel extracts can be applied directly to minor bites and stings.
- Herbalists often make a poultice with crushed burdock root, place it over the wound, and cover it with a bandage. Change bandage daily and clean wound.
- A tea made from uva-ursi (Bearberry) leaves. Other remedies include teas made from goldenrod, watermelon seeds, or marshmallow root.
- Drink plenty of water to dilute the urine and flush the bladder of any stones.
- Extracts of astringent herbs such as witch hazel, sage, and betony. Apply to skin by using a small spray bottle.

- Soak in linseed oil, soak in Epsom salt and use a hot compress applied several times a day to bring the boil to a head so it can be drained.
Bruises-
- Tincture of arnica, or an arnica cream derived from the dried flowers of the plant Arnica montana, may be effective if applied soon after the injury. Arnica- known commonly as leopard's bane, wolf's bane, mountain tobacco and mountain arnica, is a European flowering plant with large yellow capitula.
- Soaking in warm water will help
- Select the right size shoe. Wear your shoe size and women need not to wear high heels so often. Give your toes room to wiggle.
- Aloe Vera is used to treat minor burns. You can grow it in your home and break off what you need.
- To heal the skin tissue, eat plenty of of poultry, fish and lean meat.
- Second degree burns need to be immersed in cool water
Bursitis-
- A poultice made with 3 table spoons of horseradish stirred into 1/2cup of boiled milk is said to alleviate pain. Apply hot (warm-hot) with a gauze pad and remove it when it is cooled.
