The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, was the largest demonstration for social change that the world had ever seen at the time. But what really did Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. think about integrating with a country that has a legacy of murder, lynching, Jim Crow, segregation and so on.
Was Martin King fully confident that integration would work are was he really not sure of what would really happen to us as a people. I call it the great experiment that has failed.
Many people don't know that Harry Belafonte' had a conversation with King just a few days before he was murdered. What did Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. say to Belafonte' just days before his tragic death on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, TN.
I remember the last time we were together, at my home, shortly before he was murdered. He seemed quite agitated and preoccupied, and I asked him what the problem was. "I've come upon something that disturbs me deeply," he said. "We have fought hard and long for integration, as I believe we should have, and I know that we will win. But I've come to believe we're integrating into a burning house." That statement took me aback. It was the last thing I would have expected to hear, considering the nature of our struggle, and I asked him what he meant. "I'm afraid that America may be losing what moral vision she may have had," he answered. "And I'm afraid that even as we integrate, we are walking into a place that does not understand that this nation needs to be deeply concerned with the plight of the poor and disenfranchised. Until we commit ourselves to ensuring that the underclass is given justice and opportunity, we will continue to perpetuate the anger and violence that tears at the soul of this nation."
I would like to see black America honestly examine where we are at this point in history. We must stop relying on Democrats or Republicans or institutions that oppress us, and take responsibility for ourselves. Whenever we've stepped out to assume responsibility for our future, we've succeeded in our mission. White America didn't give us the gains we've made...
The "I Have A Dream", speech has made you trust in this wicked government than trust in the Most High. The prophet Martin has lied to you; he was a prophet of deceit. You have forgotten the Most High's name.
25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
27 Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
Only Yah can deliver us from this nightmare and He has chosen His son Yahoshua. We must keep the law and fulfill the scripture in 2 Chronicles 6:36-39
2 Chronicles 6:36-39 "When they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin) and You are angry with them and deliver them to an enemy, so that they take them away captive to a land far off or near(slavery),-and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their captivity and say, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong and acted wickedly';-if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been taken captive, and pray toward their land which You have given to their fathers and the city which You have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Your name,-then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their petitions, and uphold their cause. And forgive your people, who have sinned against you.
When we repent and cry out to Yah we will be delivered from this nightmare.
